What should I DO????????

What should I do guys. I am a student at UW and someone got into my email and sent some important stuff to themself and someone else. Heres the deal I must have left my email up in the library by accident (I was up all night long the day before studying so i was out of it I usually don't do stupid crap like this) OR someone has my id and passord (Yes I already changed my password). They sent some pretty important stuff, can they get in trouble for breaking into my email?? I am really ticked off right now. The stupid people did not go back into my sent folder and delete it that they had fowarded the email to themselves. I don't get some people. Any avdice would help. Thanks. Oh by the way I have thought of the whole kicking the person in the nuts, ramming my fist into there stomach, etc... etc... How do you approach this situation??

Did you find out who it was?
did they send your information to themselves ?
I would report it to the School Computing, and Possibly even the Dean, Campus Police.

I know who they are, they are "friends" whatever you want to call it, what kind of trouble can these people get into?

Probably none, unless you have proof that it was them that sent it and not you.

Seriously, you screwed up. Get over it. I use other people's accounts when I see them logged in and away without locking the workstation.

its okay to use other peoples accounts, I agree with that but not going into someones email and looking through there stuff and then sending it. And yes I think i know who did it.

Here stuff, there stuff, everywhere stuff. If you were really worried about it, wouldn't you have protected it?

It couldn't be that bad if it's sitting unencrypted in an email acccount.

Turn them into the campus police. Along with all evidence.

They can do that regardless just by changing the settings in Outlook..

If you don't mind us asking, and you're under no obligation to answer mind you, but what kind of "important stuff"? If it's something like your bank account # or or credit card #, or even something pertaining to school loans, well, I'm sure you can get them into a hellova lot of trouble.

Not money related just school stuff, it has to do with getting ready for a pretty big exam, I worked on a lot of stuff made an awesome review sheet that you can use on the exam and they stole it.

Not money related just school stuff, it has to do with getting ready for a pretty big exam, I worked on a lot of stuff made an awesome review sheet that you can use on the exam and they stole it.

Tell the professor what's going on/email him the copy of the sheet you made. Send him/her the forwarded copy, or if you know them in person, you *could* just confront them about it.
