I have a newer laptop (Dual-core processor, 15" Screen, Good Condition) that I was given because the wireless is dead, and it's a known issue (the wireless card isn't dead, the port on the motherboard is) but unfortunately this happened after the extended warranty HP gave out expired.

What should I do with it? I was thinking about turning the guts (maybe minus the screen) into a MAME cabinet, but I'm not sure how much money I want to spend on something I'd likely rarely use. I'm looking for something low cost, other than "Use it as a normal computer."

I already have a NAS so media/file storage/serving or anything of the sort likely isn't needed

And no, I won't give it to you.

Not sure, but let me know once you figure it out. I have 2 extra laptops laying around that I have no use for.

One of them is old (Dell), one not quite as old (IBM). I'd give one of them to you for shipping if you really wanted one, but not sure if they would meet your needs.

I would have to give you more info later when I get home.
