well we've been having a lot of career fairs at my school and i hate the question where they ask me what i'm interested in doing! i have no idea...im an electrical engineering major with a CS option. i think i'd rather go into the CS side rather then EE. but to tell u the truth i'm not picky at all! do u guys have any suggestions on careers i can further look into? or what is more open in the job market right now? oh and i was wondering what technical sales and marketing is..can anyone give me details on that? and what the salary range is? thanks a lot...

Build cool stuff, like Missle guidance systems, or go work for AMD and build the Athlon 2 or something.

Go into CS if you'll like it better.

weezergirl, my dad is one of the recruiters for one of the big defense firms that are always there. He was actually there today at the ACT one. He says that there is a glut of CS majors graduating soon, too many for the market to bear. My brother is EE, and my dad is saying that when he graduates in a year, that starting salary will be $50,000 or more...some are coming out at $60,000

I wouldnt use it for TP, it could hurt cause its a harder kind of paper...

What about hanging it int he Bathroom? Or you could take it up to the top of some tall mountain and get lost and then use it to start a fire so that the search planes will see the smoke and then you will be saved....

Put it away for a while, then after the kids are grown and the divorce is final , take it back out. Thats what my wife is gonna do with her
degree and one year in information systems auditing ;) Was up to 62K in the first year too.

The power generation market is pretty steady in the U.S. right now, and the world market is predicted to pick up again next year. I work for a power engineering/construction firm, and we have more work than we can handle. EE's and CS's are in demand because of the new construction, but if the economy goes down the tubes it's anyone's guess. Also it depends your area, how many universities and colleges are around. Technical sales and marketing probably means you'll be the sales representative for corporate clients. Equipment and component vendors like to have engineers represent to answer questions about the product. Anyway, that's my $0.02. You're in better shape than I am, fer shure! I'm just a lowly CAD hack. I don't know what the average EE/CS salary range is, but I bet job websites probably have charts for the careers they list. Good Luck!

Take it and shove it up your @$$.. haha j/k I had to say that.. :)

I would just try out at different places, see what field you like best.. There's always grad school.
Take your time, cuz you're still very young.
