from what you're stated about x1, it seems that iot would be a great lifelong friendship. you can be friends with the opposite sex. it's true. really.

from what you've stated about x2, move on. loyalty and good pay(turning your simile into a metaphor) are not reasons to stay.

You are too sensitive..

Girl #1... She is the hottie you really want but she is out of state.
Visit her when you want some hot action, and when she comes home, this will be a great change of pace.

Girl #2 She is around now, but you are not too interested.
Keep her around for a 2am bootie call. Think of her as insurance.

With these 2 girls in your pocket, feel confident about finding another girl that will be perfect for you. Until, enjoy both girls. BTW, NEVER say anything about Girl #1 to #2 and vice versa. It will only get you in trouble and it won't help you get any more action. So forget it. And they don't need to meet unless they want to double team you. :)

uhh, if I read correctly, "X1" is gone again... and "X2" is still around... so it seems to me you have a choice of either staying with a girl that you are at least comfortable with, or obsessing over a girl that's too far away to do anything about. Chances are, she's living a life of her own and quite possibly seeing people and not thinking twice about it.

So... the question, to me, looks like "Do I dump 'X2' and tell her it's because of 'X1'?" or "Do I just stay with the relationship with 'X2' that I'm in and hope I remember why I was in it in the first place?"

To put your analogy into better light...

Do you stay at a job that makes you financially secure, regardless of what it is, or do you quit and sit around watching TV all day in your underwear hoping that on a strange twist of fate, another job will open up to you and only you?
