I want to capture and edit my camcorder footage (composite) to my PC.
There are really three options I am looking at.
1. Buy a Radeon AIW card. They have all the features I want, but no dual monitor setup with them.
2. Buy a Dazzle Digital Video Creator II. Dazzle website
It is nice, but is about $230.00 or so.
3. Wait for the Asus V7100 Deluxe Geforce MX card. Asus website
It is not out yet, so I have no price. Plus, there is no way of knowing if the MX will be good and fast and converting the video into MPEG-2.
4. Lastly I could go with the Matrox G400 tv,or the G450 Etv. I get the dual monitor setup with that, but I have no idea how good the MPEG conversion is. Of course the G450 eTV is not out yet, and Matrox is known for making it hard to find their cards when they are first released. The G450 eTV sounds the best on paper.
Anybody out there who owns any of these and uses it for camcorder video on their PC, please let mw know what you like and what you don't like.
As for any of these cards not being the best gaming card, the games I play are Civilation II and AOE. Almost any card is fast enough in gaming for me. I am just interested in the products ability to convert camcorder footage into MPEG-2
