Well Ive been working at this store for about six months. During this time I have basically become the second in charge of the department, and I keep it afloat (or sinking if I feel like it). Ive received a .40 cent raise since i started after 3 months. My boss has told me repeatedly that I earned a large raise ($1+) but he never delivered. I have asked him about it many times but he just blows me off. What should I do? Right now the only thing I see possible is for me to sink the department...but Im not sure how that will help me....(just be fun to watch him get yelled at)

two wrongs never make a right ... take the moral high road and threaten to leave to a place where u will be compensated like you deserve, but don't sink the department (where many people would be effected) to get vengence on one person.

keep up the good work, there is light at the end of the tunnel, 40 cents ain't too bad for a raise if u ask me depending on the job though

what kind of job is this btw?

Well its not just that. Its that all the incompetent supervisors of other departments get demoted, and somehow moved to my dept. But my company doesnt demote pay. So we are paying people like 17/hour who are mentally retarded and cant do a damn thing of work. So while me and one other person are the only ones who have a clue how to run the place, the managers also know that, but they see me and go 'oh hes too young, we can get away from giving him a raise'. I make a little above 10, whereas the dept average is somewhere around 14. So yes im getting shafted bigtime, also Ive been working there the second longest.

Well when I asked my boss he went and talked to the general manager, and as far as my problem is concerned, it ends there.

Just out of curiosity, how old are you, and what region do you live in? If you have a CCNP, you might consider updating your resume and start shopping around for new employment, since "fixing computers" is just grunt work. Wouldn't you rather use your brain doing something useful?
