I recently ported my # from SprintPCS to AT&T (Less than a week ago). I am currently on their GSM network (on the $29.99 plan), but reception is HORRIBLE (just as bad as Sprint, but better where it counts most at my house). Because reception was so horrible, and i am within the grace period to avoid cancellation fees, i wanted to join T-Mobile with my brother on the family plan, (t-mobile is the best service here in hawaii). However, I am now screwed because i can't port my # over to t-mobile with the family plan (the $49.99 one) because the names on the two plans are different. AHHHHH...what should i do?

I am immediately faced with some choices. 1) stay with att and pray that their GSM coverage improves 2) dish out $200+ for a v60 phone on the AT&T TDMA network, just to change phones again when they completely phase out TDMA 3) join T-mobile on the $29.99 plan with a VERY BASIC plan and have to carefully watch my minutes from day to day...errr...i don't know what to do, i have one more week before the grace period is over...AHHHHHH...

Look on amazon, some times they will let you get the rebate for phones on there. The v60 is FAR with a new contract.

You can change the name registered to the account by transferring the responsibility of paying the bills to another person. I've never done it before, but you can call AT&T and ask them about it.
