Hi everybody,
I shut down chessbrain, because I was sure it wasn't doing anything(the live game didn't show anything even though I have the .net framework).
and, I see my self as gregorym in the stats!
should I just stay as gregorym, or change to what I use, yelo333?
also, does it really only take 5-10 percent of my cpu?
I'm also running dpad, so should I have that run, too(2000+)
Thanks

(btw, it's running again)

If you put in your email address, then the stats will use the bit before the @
If you change that, then any work done with the current one will stay as it is, and the new one will start it's stats.
Yes, it will only use about 5-10% of your CPU. It doesn't need constant calculations, only when the server sends out work.
ChessBrain is a nice project to run alongside other projects, as it doesn't use too much CPU time. If you set it to Normal or Below_Normal, then it will use the CPU when it needs to, and then give back the idle time to other programs. If you set it to idle, when it recieves work, it will split that time with the other project, so will take longer for that bit of work.

How do I configure CLI client correctly? I registered, but haven't received email yet. I altered .conf file to reflect UID=BCinSC and TEAM=TEAMANANDTECH.

BC, I think you've done all corectly... Anyway, hourly-updated stats are here...
To answer your probelm about e-mail you mentioned in PM - it's about World Record software, which wasn't published yet, so that's why you haven't get any e-mail back yet.
To others: if you haven't done it before, register here to be able to take part in World Record Attempt!!

@Yelo333
You can crunch under that username you want... It doesn't change anything, but if you set up new username, you will get new account on ChessBrain.
Confused is right, if you put e-mail, you will crunch under username, which is get from what you type before @.
I don't know if it takes 5 or whatever number of PC power, but it takes it only when it needs it, so do not worry about other DC running with it!

Anyone else has question about ChessBrain ?

Does it write local files, or can I run on several machines from a single network share? I have 3 individual installs now and all say intialized and on stand-by. When will it begin processing?

Nope, it doesn't write local files from what I have found out :)

I have had it running from a network share on a couple of PCs at once :)

If there is no work from the server, then it won't recieve any for a while. Just be patient, leave the client running, and it should start working soon :)
Edit: Check here, my clients at home haven't recieved any work for over 4hrs, this is quite normal at times. Once my clients start getting work, then yours should too :)

It's been over 7 hours per your page - is everything OK with CB? Stats page says no one had updates last round.

I have had times when it has gone for about 10-14hrs, then it will jump back into life and get loads of work!

It's if it goes for a few days i'll start to worry ;)

FYI according to the latest weekly update at ChessBrain forum name changes will be possible.

- Oliver Otte has completed our new online user registration and profile management system! The new web based system will allow members to register and manage their profile. For example, users will now be able to change their user name and team affiliation! The information entered will automatically be used in stats displays. Oliver has also created the new database schema for our next generation stats tracking.
