I need recommendations on a new motherboard. I am getting the Athlon XP1900.

Seach around this tread for info. Any KT226A chipset mobo is worth checking out.

On the whole, you can't go wrong with Asus. I would say this list:

Asus A7M266 (AMD 760 chipset)
Asus A7V266-E (VIA KT266A chipset)
Giga-byte GA-7DXR (AMD 760 chipset)
Giga-byte GA-7VTXE (VIA KT266A chipset)

The last one can be had for as little as $100. I recommend any of the above boards. I have the A7M266 myself and it's great to have something equally if not more reliable as an Intel board. Personally, I choose stability over a board's potential for overclocking.

what features do u need? onboard raid? audio? ethernet? usb 2.0? overclocking potential?

Get a kt266a board for sure, you just need to choose the one that'll suit your needs.
