I'm looking to build myself a new computer and I'm really unsure of what type of video card to get. I need a PCI-e card, and am lookin to spend $150-250 on it. Nothing too fancy, just a good deal of a card. Any help out there?

I agree...I've seen X800XL's for around $275-280 I think, so if you could stretch your budget just a tiny bit, you'd get a vast improvement over anything else in the price range (like a 6600GT).

Well, we should also ask what monitor you have and what resolution you'd like to be gaming at. The X800XL is leaps and bounds ahead of the 6600GT as far as I'm aware - but at the same time, if you don't necessarily require all the "eye candy" and high resolutions, then you could get a 6600GT on the low side of your budget.

You could probably get by with a 6600GT then, since that's not a particularly "high" resolution (at least not anymore). However, since you were willing to spend $250 already, I would still suggest remaining open to the possibility of getting an X800XL. It's also possible that the impending next-gen video card launches from Nvidia and ATI might push down the prices of current stuff, so depending on when you need or want to buy your stuff, you may be able to get a little more.
