Oh really? Let's see what I said that isn't true:
  • These clowns spout Canon for every damn thing, regardless of how much of a compromise it is. NOBODY can argue against that!
  • The Best Camcorders: You see Canon anywhere on that list? There's a link to a top notch site, that reviews camcorders, and for some ungodly reason, they neglected to include Canon in their best buy lists. How dare they?
  • ...a digicam would probably serve you better for "going overseas", but that's just a hunch. I wouldn't bother taking movies with a digicam, or stills with a camcorder, but I think you'd get better use of the stills than video. Just my opinion, and I said so. Now, if you want to argue that a digital camera would be a good choice for shooting videos on vacation...
  • It's also missing an autofocus assist light. God, you guys are pathetic... Two facts in a row, that can't be argued against!
  • ...also look at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 with flash hot shoe, or smaller, cheaper, DMC-FZ5. Oh no, two serious choices that aren't Canon! Oh, the humanity!
  • More compromise, eh? Good plan... How many 2GB sticks of memory are you taking overseas with you, Firm? MOST people will agree, a camcorder is the FAR better choice for shooting video. Actually, I'd caulk that up as a fact!
  • Is that NOT a compromise? And, it's a particularly dumb thing to do when you have limited memory available during an extended vacation. Yep, that' particularly TRUE!
  • Your choice of Digicam has no autofocus assist lamp, which is unforgivable in a several hundred dollar camera. There's that compromise thing again. I's a necessary feature, not a missing bell or whistle.
  • Canon's camcorders cost way too much for too little performance. Give the OP a damn break, and quit shilling for Canon! There are reasons why Canon isn't on the list of best buys for camcorders. Fact is, there are better choices!

All this coming for someone who has owned what...2 cameras...both Sony...
I owned a top of the line, Canon point & shoot, which had an autofocus assist lamp that couldn't do the job. It was returned for that very reason. To say that missing feature isn't important is... oh, I don't know... "talking out of your ass"?

FACT is I did own one, everything I said is FACT and backed up with links, so stuff that, and/or STFU!
