Which notebook do you experts suggest that have all the specification listed below? Can anyone suggest at least three?

* Less than $2,500 before tax
* 2 GHz with Centrino processor
* 1 GB memory (Dual Channel)
* 533 MHz FSB
* 2 MB L2 Cache
* Greater than 64 MB Graphic
* Internal Wireless

I was initially thinking to buy Sony Vaio S380, but the price came out to be $3,000.

Although I still think that the price is about right regarding the things listed above, but in order to make sure that I am not wasting money, I'd like to get some advices from the experts.

Please.

Thank you,

Eric:)

I would reccomend the dell xps2. When its on sale its below 2500 and the 6800 go ultra in it will score over 5k in 3d mark 05. The proc is a centrino 2.13 i think

To be honest, I'd say just wait until the next crazy dell deal and get whatever looks good for the money.

Around this past Christmas my sister got the following for $800 shipped:
3 Ghz P4 w/HT (800 fsb)
512mb pc3200
mobility radeon 9700
wireless
15.4" widescreen
60gig
etc.

This was a $750 off $1500 coupon she used. If you keep your eyes open for dell deals, you can really get an amazing deal.

I've also been looking around, especially Dell's laptops. Dell XPS2 is way too big for me. I'm looking for something very portable.

I guess I misunderstood. I thought there was a laptop with dual channel memory, but that's fine.

Conclusively, I want all those spec listed above except the dual channelp part and plus extreme portability.

Can you think of anything?

What are best laptops currently in the market that's less than $2500 without compromizing too much from what l listed above?

I think the mobile 915 chipsets have dual channel memory, however I'm not sure about the availability yet.

If $2500 is your ceiling, then most of the majors (IBM, Dell, Toshiba, HP/Compaq) should be able to get you a laptop with those specs. Me personally and for work, in regards to laptops, IBM Thinkpads 1st, Dell Latitudes and Toshiba's 2nd. If this is not for work/mission critical, then I would probably lean towards a Latitude through Dell Small Business. If it is work related, then Thinkpads are my choice. I just spec'd out a Latitude D610 without any coupons for about 1650 dollars, so you can easily get what you are looking for. Sony is a ripoff IMO.

The Dell 700M meets all of your criteria except it runs off a 400 MHz bus and does not have dedicated graphics.
