So, thinking about buying a new cell phone just because it's sleek and I'm tired of my current one. It is $350 (A900 from Sprint). How would you spend the $350 instead? Please don't reply with "save it" or "invest it".

You have or want an A900?
I've got an A900.

Personally, I think I would buy an AK-47.
Either that or a CZ52 and a K31.

Invest it. If not ...

Look at a smartphone. Look at a nice LCD. Look at some clothes, sneakers.

If I had $350 to spend right now, I would buy me a LCD since I have a CRT. I used to be crazy for cell phones, but my admiration for them is not the same.

Also, you could go for clothes shopping.

I've got an A900. After the last software update a month or so ago I can say this phone is great!

I would probably upgrade my processor to an AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800 and pocket the rest.

Edit: Actually I've been looking at purchasing a new digital camera. I've been looking at a few including the Canon S2IS.

I would get a cell phone or get the ps3 when it comes out
or put it towards a ultraportable laptop

I have an LCD that I'm happy with, and clothes just don't interest me.

I used to go gaga over every new phone that came out...

Then I realized I really only use the thing to make phone calls so it's kind of pointless to keep switching to the latest and greatest for a few extra features which I'll probably rarely use. I'm happy with my Mot E815.

If I were spending $350 on something, I'd upgrade something that could really use updating-- like getting a newer portable MP3 player, or replacing my car's 8-track with a cassette player.

I can't think of any set of circumstances that would compel me to spend $350 on a phone.

I have an iPod nano and a 6 disk changer came with my car.

Fixed

That's a brick in your pocket
Same size as a Treo 650 (smaller actually -- no antenna), and people go nuts over those for god knows what reason.
It's a hell of a lot more useful than a Smartphone...touchscreen, bigger screen, qwerty keyboard, WinMo 5, etc. The MPx is a cool phone though...I prefer candybars though(SDA anyone?).

Half an ounce of GOLD!!! *evil laugh*

The iMate SP5 is a really nice phone, I picked one up. It's equivalent to the new one at Cingular, but I can't remember what they call theirs, the SP5 is better looking.

I think it's a bit over $400 though. You can get one from Mobile Planet probably.
