we've arrested lots of people suspected of being accomplices in the terrorist attack on 11/9. the reasons are anywhere from being material witnesses to immigration violations, etc. what should we do with these people? short vacations in lock-up? deportation? mysterious and inexplicable accidents?

what's to keep these people from involvement in further killings?

Accessories before or after the fact are usually charged with the same crime as the primary perpetrator(s).

Lock 'em up forever, hang 'em, or let 'em ride the lightning, lethal injection is way too good for them.

I'm no fan of immediately killing them as I feel it's to easy.

How about special prison cells with George W. Bush wallpaper and when they go to the bathroom they have to wipe their butts with toliet paper that has bin Laden's face printed on it. We can leave a TV on right outside their cell that shows videoclips on Bush's speeches playing over and over at full blast. Then every time they try and go to sleep they should be immediately woke up. This is for those people so affected by the acts that the terrorists have performed, that they can't sleep at night.

I cannot think of the proper torture off of the top of my head but given an adequit amount of time i'm certain I could come up with something sufficient that we can all be happy with.

Seriously though, I do think they need to be publicly tortured because that is the only way we as a country are going to get any satisfaction and a sense of closeure. Otherwise what are we going to do, put them in jail and pay for them to survive for another twenty or thirty years on our dime. Thats not punishment in my book, and many think just as I do so whether or not you do is irrelevant to me. So don't flame me for my opinion because it will not change either way.,

We should torture them to extract any information, then dispose of them(perhaps public execution)
Why?
1.See what they know, use what they know for our defense.
2.Make a statement to the World that this is how people involved in this will be dealt with.

well, while i agree with most about what to do with those that are proved to be involved, my real question is a bit stickier. what about those that are highly suspect, in the eyes of investigating officials are completely guilty, yet cannot be adequately proven to be involved.

we have a judicial system that has to be taken into account. innocent until proven guilty. yet you know these people are involved but cannot, beyond doubt, prove it. what to do?

btw, i'm in favor of mysterious and inexplicable accidents. but this, i know, amounts to frontier justice and the sanctioning of hit squads. if anyone's seen the "Star Chamber" with michael douglas, you'll understand better what i'm talking about.
