What should be a sub-forum but isn't and probably won't happen?

There should be a hall of fame sub forum. We could move all of the best/worst threads there for safe keeping.

subforums kill forums.
E.g. many tech forums have a graphics section, but those are way too difficult to keep alive.

Yeah. I think the Software subforum should be merged with Operating Systems. Maybe Programming too.

Motherboards, CPUs, and Storage subforums need to be lumped together with General Hardware.

I'd like to see Console Gaming and PC Gaming merged.

I don't even like having Home Theater separate from Mobile Devices and Gadgets since so many things are tied together these days. It's already diluted with posts going into All Things Apple subforum.

Game of Thrones

and sub sub forums for

Spoilers
No Spoilers
Book 1 spoilers only
Book 1 spoilers, but nothing about Tyrion
Season 3, Episode one, but only stuff that was changed from the book.
Book 2, page 7, spoiler free
Book 2, page 7, with spoilers
Book 2, page 7, how if differed from the show...
Repeat until everyone stops freaking crying 24/7

lol 10/10

I think we need
  • Religion

I agree, the sub forums kill off much of the traffic of many threads that would get much more pertinent replies if it were in OT.

I disagree, I've posted questions in "power supplies", "video cards", ect. forums and gotten good answers to my questions, it just takes longer. If you clumped all the technical forums along with all the crap that get posted in OT you'd have one hell of a mes on your hands, people are just impatient, that's the issue..

60,000+ posts and your not exactly legendary........

jesus christ you're one thick dingleberry. you think I was referring to myself? :D

new forum:

threads where JEDIYoda wildly and hilariously misinterprets every single post that he responds to, then self-confidently assures himself that he was right all along.

With traffic to AT seemingly going down, there should really only be a handful of subforums:

Hardware and Technology
Consumer Electronics
Software
Social
Merchandise and Shopping
And I guess one for Forum Issues and if you must one for the moderators.

:sneaky:

I am happy with the Garage and P&N to keep the lunacy down. HT, while slow, is still a great subforum to do some reading.

I like to go to the subforums when I am bored of OT, the garage, and PC Gaming, I like the categorization, myself.

BTW, it is funny that an internet forum is going through a "good old days" reminiscence. Of course nothing has really changed, but it has reached the age of nostalgia kicking in to make it seem like things have changed a lot.

Same as any other form of culture people regularly consume their lives with.
