I got an Asus K7M mobo and Classic Athlon. I am wanting to get it to something like 800Mhz. I don't use Goldfinger device so how will I get optimal from FSB and Voltage?

Thanks in advance!

Albert.

Well, most people don't have much luck getting past 110-115 FSB on a KX133 mobo. On my old KA7, the highest I could get was around 125 or so. But it wasn't stable. It was good enough to run a few benchmarks but that was about it. Realistically, you should expect to get around 700 or so. Without a GFD, you're kind of SOL. Before I got my GFD, I ran my 550 at around 600. Anything higher than 109 FSB would mess up my NIC. With the GFD, my max stable overclock was 864. Not too shabby for a .25 550. If you really want to overclock, my advice is to just get it over with and crack open your cpu and put a GFD on it. :)

Concur with Spoooon. Only decent way to get a slot A >10% above stock is a GFD. My backup system is a slot A 600 running at 757 with a Maximizer and Alpha P3125 with twin Delta Black labels.;)

Well I don't really want to use a GFD because I mite do something bad... Well I will stick with the stock speed then.

Thanks guys,

Albert.
