i'm fairly sure you pick a service, then if you're drafted, you have a better chance of getting that service instead of the army.

nope, you definately don't pick a service... You just register for the selective service so they have you on record in case of a draft

You just register for selective service, if there ever were a draft again your opinions aren't really asked.

here is an interesting tidbit
How does the Military Selective Service Act apply to individuals who have had a sex change? Individuals who are born female and have a sex change are not required to register. U.S. citizens or immigrants who are born male and have a sex change are still required to register. In the event of a resumption of the draft, males who have had a sex change can file a claim for an exemption from military service if they receive an order to report for examination or induction.

nope .. you dont get to pick .. you just sign up and if you get drafted, you get an all expenses paid round trip to your grave
