What secrets do they know that we don't?

From an article on CNET on Gaming-PC makers like Voodoo, Alienware, etc:

"It's a lot more than high-end components," Voodoo's Sood said. "Our systems are built using methods that allow us to get far better performance than you would building it yourself."



The question is: What do those guys know that we (or I, rather) don't? 😕

In my opinion, they know nothing more than you can learn from reading these forums.

If you ask them, "Like what?", they'll respond with, "That's proprietary".

It's just hype.

yup overclocking and folding wires for which they charge 1000.00 to 3000 more for their magic lol

oh and they turn off the unnecessary stuff in the windows that take away from benchmarking

warranties are extra but alienware was the only one last year that had phone support 24/7

The only secret that they think they know is that they know more than the rest of us. It's just overclocking and modding like Wolfsraider said. It's nothing that we can't all do. Just that they have all the people that know how to do it inside one company. I like the folding of the IDE cables that Voodoo does though. 😛 I tried it and it looks nasty...
