its the new 12/10/32 version. I plan on purchasing it very soon and I want a good scsi card that I can later on use to attach hdd's and maybe a few other devices. Please let me know which scsi card i should look into. I prefer adaptec.

If money is no object, then go with Adaptec. If you are looking to save some money, try Tekram or Advansys (which I think has a new name, I/O something-or-rather). Tekram cards, by all accounts I've read, are excellent and well supported at a fraction of the cost of the name brand Adaptec. I have an Advansys card in my system (only SCSI-2) that's been working fantastically for about two years without so much as a hiccup of protest, ever. I only run optical drives off of it right now, but I have a 9GB SCSI drive sitting behind me that's going to be installed shortly.

Have Tekram DC390-U2W. Easy to recommend. Prices have dropped since the U3W came out. About $130, I think. Comes w/ all terminators & cabling u need (which can get expensive). Have SCSI HDDs, CDROM & burner. Sweet. Good Linux sppt.

I don't think you're gonna need the Tekram DC390-U2W if you're just gonna put your burner and cdrom on it. I've just order the new 12/10/32 SCSI version. Currently I have an Adaptec 2940U and I don't think there's gonna be any problem. Can't wait for this bad boy to get here.

I have the Tekram U2W and Ive had nothing but great experience with it. I picked it up this summer for around $160 from hypermicro, but prices have gone down considerably. If you plan on running a scsi Hard drive in the future as well, then pick up the U3W of the U2W.

I was checking around and saw that ONVIA has the SCSI burnproof version in stock but couldn' find any coupons for Oniva. I figure since ONVIA and BUY.COM use the same supplier and maybe that Buy.com haven't update their website they might have them in stock too. so I ordered for Buy.com and my total came to $275 shipped which isn't that much more compare to the IDE version.
