What SCSI Card should I Get?

I just purchased a new scsi drive.

Seagate 50.1GB SCSI ULTRA2 LVD 3.5HH 8.2MS 7200RPM SCA 80PIN

What would be a good/decently priced scsi card for me to get?

Thanks in advance for the help

Tekram DC-390U2W is a good choice. Retail version costs around $130 and has driver for all OS you could possibly use.

Adaptec 2940u2w, step up from the Tekram in many people's opinion. Albeit more expensive. 🙂

Of course.. I do have one for sale at for sale/trade for $100 shipped, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. 🙂

Avoid anything with Adaptec written over it. Stick with LSI/Symbios based controllers. They are cheaper and give better performance, not to mention Adaptec sucks at support and their drivers are the crappiest ever left a development department.

I currently use an old Adaptec 2940UW in my system (hey, it was free) but I wholeheartedly recommend Tekram cards if you're shopping for one. Adaptec cards tend to cost 1.5-2x as much and they really don't have a particular edge in performance.

I used to have a DC-315U (which was a simple, but very stable card), but I had to swap it out with this Adaptec for my CD drives because I needed a card with a boot BIOS.
