T6 is a Torx size 6. I assume it looks like a triangle?. You may have to go to your local electronics store and buy one. Hardware stores won't carry them.

I forget what they're called.

Hmmm, after a little googling, you may be right. Torx are generally star shaped, but with 8 points I beleive.

Torx = star
Philips = cross

What you're describing sounds more like the arrangement of the legs on a tripod. It's possible that it's proprietary and no consumer screw drivers are made for it.

Not Torx. Take it to an electronics shop and match up the screwhead.

When sliding the lens cover open, a screw fell out (the same style screw). and the lens cover 'sliding mechanism' has been shot ever since (turns the camera off if you touch it). I just want to open the case and see what and where the screw is that fell out. This is just a $90 camera I bought for my daughter, so I'm not going to put any money into it, but I would like to disassemble it and see what happened and maybe repair it.

Did you keep the screw?

that's called an upside down Y slot. It's not a torx.

Just use a flat blade and angle it in. You should be able to unscrew it.
