I am considering getting a Compaq X1000 or HP ZT3000 but am unsure on what monitor resolution to get, either the WXGA(1280x800) or the WSXGA+(1680x1050). The resolutions cannot be changed on these 2 laptops so getting the wSXGA and changing it to 1280x800 isnt possible.I like to be able to use the computer even if I don't have my contacts in, I have semi-bad vision without contacts in, I can see a 1024x768 resolution if i squint a little bit but thats fine with me if I have to squint. I also like to watch alot of movies on the computer. This computer will be used for everything, taking notes, watching video, playing games, viewing pictures from digital camera, browsing the net and video editing. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated

I have a dell 8500 with the 1680 X 1050

I love it...

The text by defult however is small. If you have trouble reading on a 1024X768, i doubt you ll manage in this resolution....

Agree with abhi. I have pretty good (not perfect) vision, and the WSXGA+ was a bit too small for me. SXGA+ on my 14.1" ibm is fine though.
