Been reading Lord Foul's Bane (The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, Book 1) for practically the past 4 months. I just can't force myself to sit down and finish it.

I don't think I could put that one down...

I'm having issues with Picture of Dorian Grey at the moment.

Plenty of Comic books fall into those categories though.

From what I've read so far (100 pages or so) it's a good book, it's just for some reason, I cannot sit down with it. I have no idea why. Hell I may try to go finish it now, I'm done with classes for the day.

I understand. But I remember I was around 13 and couldn't put the book down. I got in trouble in class a couple of times for reasing it, and was always tired because I had to stay up to read just one more chapter. :p

Haha I was like that with The Song of Ice and Fire series.

I have the other 2 books in the first Thomas Covenant series waiting for me when I'm done. I've heard nothing but good things about the books, so maybe I'll try to finish them up within the next 2 weeks.

Yeah the Song of Ice and Fire series was remarkable. When Martin started killing off certain characters I was shocked. I love the way the dwark was developed as well as the youngest girl (can't think of her name). I'll be glad when finally finishes the next book.

Anyone know how many books he has planned for that series?

I think Martin was planning 6 books for the series. And yea, Arya does have an interesting place in the story. My favorite characters in the series are Rob and Tyrion. And yes, I know what you're thinking, but I'm not giving out any spoliers in this thread.

The best thing I like about the book is how nobody is safe. Which makes things much more interesting :)

I'm in the process of re-reading the Lensman series, which has recently been reprinted. Also ready Titan, by John Varley, and will read Wizard and Demon.

I read Heir to the Empire a couple weeks ago. I will start reading Dark Force Rising this weekend.

If you are a Star Wars fan, this Timothy Zahn trilogy is a must (at least the first book is)...

The second preqel of DUNE.

yes there are 2 for 6 books before Dune and Well after Dune was originally published. Kevin J. Anderson is the Co-author that you might know from many Star Wars books. Great read and Audio Book too (Scott Brick)

I'll give them a plug :)

Zahn's trilogy is excellent. Much better than some of the other stuff like Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi Academy trilogy.

The last book I finished was Contact by Carl Sagan.

Haven't picked anything new up since. It's been too long!

There were two more books that are supposed to continue that trilogy. I read the first of the two, didn't bother with the second.

I didn't realize there had been a recent reprint of the Lensman series. I need to get those. :D I read the first two of that trilogy by Varley, never got to read the third one. :(

There are actually 2 more Zahn novels beyond the first 3 that continue the storyline years down the road. All of them are very good IMO.

I'm half-assed reading Imperial Earth by Arthur C. Clarke. When I'm in the school library I'll grab it off the shelf and read a chapter if I have time.

I'm slowing hacking away at Heir to the Empire as well.

it's a pretty good read, it just seems like I haven't had that much time to read lately (plus, I got in a shipment of a full-run of a comic series, so reading those 150 issues ate up a lot of time).
