I did fail out of Palomar Community College though!
that is truly sad. a failure at a community college.
why is it sad? People who say CC is sad, they actually take classes there before?
Well considering CC's have no admissions requirements, are meant for everyone, usually feature students who dont get accepted to major universities, yeah it's pretty sad. You might not be the smartest one there, beuacse there are lots of poor kids that have no choice but go there, but failing out is just.. wow...
"Feature student" (what ever that means) don't get accepted to major universities?
Your wrong there. Most CC have more than half there students go to a respectable 4 year university/college.
People go to a CC to learn the basic stuff in college and some go there because of money issues. They have no admission requirements because it serves the general public.
Even if half of all CC students go on to a respectable 4 year college, that means the other half didnt have the credentials to do so. I never denied there are bright motivated people in CCs but there are much more in 4 year universities, more so when you move to the top tiers. ANd since the classes are designed for the general public, ie someone who might not be qualified for a normal 4 year, it will not be as rigorous as something you would find in a 4 year institution.
I knew you would bring that up, and that is just plain wrong. I have tutored CC students and university students in calculus. Guess what? It's the same exact material and the tests are just as hard. Calculus 2 is Calculus 2 and Physics is Physics no matter where you go. You actually think that just because it is a CC, they will dumb a subject down? Absolutley not. If they did that, it would not be a college level course. In fact, lots of CC will not even curve like they do in 4 year schools. the grade you earn is the grade you get.
