What satellite?

DirecTV + Tivo = DirecTivo = Eternal Bliss

I would not do Dish Network. I had numerous customer service problems with them and finally switched

You're going to hear good and bad about both companies honestly. I'd get whatever is the cheapest that has the channels you want. Both are doing multi-room systems with free install and PVRs. The Dishnetwork PVR isn't as nice as DirecTivo (because it doesn't have the Tivo service), but it still works pretty well. If you're like me and don't even use the "extra" tivo features (suggested shows, wishlists, etc) then you'll never miss it.

i am happy with Dish / 3 rooms + PVR for $50/month for the Top 120 package and local channels, no premiums

Anyone know if any satellite providers have any satellites viewable East, Southeast, or Northeast? (from Florida)

Perfectly put, Exact setup I have and love it. DirecTivo is a gift from God.

I hear that starting today, Dish Network is offering Sirius satellite radio instead of MUZAK... for their music channels.

Some more questions.

Will the satellite run on the same lines as my cable connection? If so will my cable modem still work? What angle and direction does the satellite need to be pointed in? We have tall trees in this area.

No your cable modem will not work unless your already paying for it through your current isp. Satalite TV no internet involved there.

DirecTV + Tivo..... for 3 rooms it would be $55 a month with the tivo cost, but that is all digital, some 130+ channels, first 6 months would be $45 a month.

The dish points south in the midwest, southwest from the east cost, southeast from the west coast. And if you have cable modem, check into DSL, some areas have really good deals, I get much faster then comcast offers, for the same price... 6000/608 instead of 3000/256.

I plan on keeping cable modem service. The question is can the cable internet still work if satellite is there to?

No DSL available here.
