What;s the diff between Coke Zero and diet coke?

Um, zero calories would require zero sugar. And vice versa.

I was wondering the same. I'm guessing different sweetener. Let me investigate.

From here

The only chemical difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke is that Coke Zero has about half the aspartame but has more ace-k.

I *think* the idea is it's 'diet' coke that tastes more like regular coke.. I hear this isn't the case, though.

I got a bottle of the Diet Zero. It doesn't have the lingering aftertaste that I dislike about Diet Coke. But, it still doesn't taste as good as regular Coke. I'd say it is too sweet.

Link
ATLANTA - The Coca-Cola Co. said Monday it will launch a no-calorie version of its trademark soft drink called Coca-Cola Zero in the United States in June.

The drink will be sweetened partly with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Aspartame is a key ingredient in Diet Coke, but a spokesman for the Atlanta-based company said Coca-Cola Zero will have a unique taste.

No, Diet Coke with Splenda has Splenda, Zero has the above stuff.
Whoops, I was wrong. Just read their horrible flash site...

So anyway, is it just me or is the number of different diet colas a little large?

Diet Coke
Coke Zero
Diet Coke with Splenda
Diet Pepsi
Pepsi One (which was hilarious because they added like one drop of sugar syrup to make it have one calorie for marketing)

could throw c2 in there, also, I'd think.

Forgot about that one.

I don't really drink soda much, and when I do, I almost never drink colas, so I miss a lot of these latest ones :)

Guess I have been on teh Diet Coke train to long as Diet Coke with Splenda and Coke Zero do not taste good to me. But I am use to reg. diet coke. So maybe these are better tasting for people trying to get away from reg. coke.

I thought it tastes more like regular coke than diet coke. Plus it doesn't have a funny aftertaste.

Then add Pepsi Edge too (which actually isn't bad at all).

People get tired of drinking the same diet coke with their Big Mac and large fry every day.

I just picked up a couple bottles to try. I can still taste the aspertame, which is why i don't like diet coke. The aftertaste isn't as strong...and in fact barely noticable. But i still get it. C2 is the best, but because it isn't doing to well at all, probably won't be around too much longer.

I haven't tried diet coke with splenda yet though. That's my next trial.

I tried COKE zero today. I hate it.

I love Diet COKE, and it tastes nothing like it.

It tastes more on the lines of Classic COKE.
