I'm not sure where the best deal is, but I just picked up the Z560's and they are sweet! Thay sound great.

I'm not telling how much I paid or where I got them. It was one of those "gotta have it now" things.

Dead3ye...

Are the Logitech speakers dual voltage?

Normally the adapter will say sometthing like 120v-230V if they are...

I'm not sure as I'm at work right now. I do know that there is no adapter per say. The cord that plugs into the wall outlet is just a straight cord coming from the sub. The transformer is located inside the sub enclosure.

I'm sure you could probably find this info on Logitech's site. I'll check when I get home and post what I find here.

Don't buy a set of speakers on THX certification alone. Try any find a store that will let you listen to the speakers and make up your own mind. You may will find that some non-THX speakers sound better.

The Altec Lansing 641's sound way better than the Logitech Z-560's, especially when listening to music.

THX certification of multimedia speakers is completely meaningless. It's purely a marketing gimmick. About the only standard that has to be met for THX multimedia certification is that the speakers have to be powered by electricity ;)

Check out the Klipsch Promedias. Awesome. Other people say they like Monsoons best.

Logitech Z-560's are amazing. Whether they are the best, I wouldn't know since I havn't listened much or at all to the similar level ones. I got them at NCIX.com for $235 CND.

As people said above, don't look at THX cert. It means little.

i love my z560's, it's so powerful... and it's so nice... the altecs subwoofer is actually bigger, so i can't fit that in my room
that pretty much decided it to me since they were both 4.1s and roughly the same price
THX probably is a marketing scheme, but it looks nice on your speakers and you can show off to people that don't know any better...
logitech is more for the gamer and altecs are more for the music listner, so it kinda depends who you are...
i don't think you can go wrong either way... good luck deciding...
