hi !

I would like to know what rwin settings do you use with your high speed connections.
I have a 1 mbit modem.

Thor !

I've set my RWIN to 65535 under Windows 95 and get excellent speeds and no connection troubles. Win2K defaults to 17520 and I haven't changed that yet, maybe I'll go try that now...

In any case, avoid values under 8192 at minimum, that's just crippling your modem.

My RWIN is set to 256960 at the moment, i used tweaks off speedguide.net and they actually really helped, in both Windows 98SE and Windows 2000. And I'm using Cable.

RWIN on my Win2K machine is now 131070 and downloads seem slightly improved thus far.

The best source for registry tweaks like this that I've found thus far is at dslreports.com's Tweaks section. Use the drop-down menu to look at the "RWIN" and "TweakMatrix" pages - just remember to backup your TCP/IP options before playing around with them. 🙂
