What retailer puts a gold foil sticker with a present on it

Got a DVD as a present that I want to return without offending the giver. It has a gold foil sticker over the price tag. It's about 1.5" square and has a gift package embossed on it.

Any ideas what store does this??

You sure the store put the sticker on, and not the giver?

Wow, my intelligence dropped reading this. Why would a store cover up their own price tag?

The Buyer doesn't like showing the receiver what he paid for the gift, so I imagine that thsi is a service from the store, as opposed to the buyer scratching off the price themself when he gets home.

because the item was a gift. I assumed the store did it to preserve the ability to return it, but maybe the giver put the sticker on, although I would think she would have just peeled off the price tag.
