What resolution do you play CURRENT games at?

UNCjigga

Current generation:

- Doom 3
- Half-Life 2
- FarCry
- Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
- WoW
- Rome: Total War
- Pariah

Wondering a couple things:

1) On average, what resolution you play at
2) Max resolution of your monitor
3) Level of anisotropic filtering you have enabled at this res
4) Level of FSAA you have enabled at this res

Game Resolution: 1024x768 for everything except Doom 3 and Battlefield 1942, which I play at 640x480.
Maximum Monitor Resolution: 1600x1200.
AF: None.
AA: None.
Monitor Type: CRT.

1600x1200 for almost everything. Chaos Theory with SM 3.0 drags at that resolution. Guess I need to go SLI 😉

game reso: 1280x1024 every single game
max res of monitor: lcd 1280x1024
AF: 8x or 16x mostly 8x though
AA: 4x or on older games 8xSSAA

1152x864 and 1280x960 @100Hz (17' flat CRT)

anisotropic filtering and FS are really game depended..

max 2048x1536

I prefer eye candy over resolution. I play most current-gen. games at 10x7, 4aa8af, with in-game detail settings maxed - they make a difference, might want to add another poll.

Like 1152x864, 1280x960 etc, or at least an "other" option.

Usually 1280x960 or 1024x768 depending on the game, with 4xAF or no AF and no AA>
Pariah/UT2k4 is 1280x960 w/4xAF
HL2 is 1024x768 IIRC with no AF
Farcry was one of the above, can't remember which though.

Updated the poll:

I play most next-gen games at 1024x768 with most of the candy turned off, with the exception of Doom 3 and HL2. Doom 3 I play at 800x600 with as much candy as my 8500 supports. HL2 plays nicely at 1280x1024 (35fps except for some areas) with all candy on. I don't use FSAA but I do use 4x anisotropic. Generally I'm happy to get 25-35 fps.

Res: 1280x960
Max Res: 2048x1536
AF: 8x
AA: 4x
Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 997DF-T 19" CRT

Well, I used to play 4x/8x with my unlocked 6800. Now that I've got a PCI-e rig, I decided to throw in a refurbed 6600 as a cheap stopgap until next gen's graphics cards come out this fall. It doesn't like more than 2x/2x in the latest games at 12x9.

All games at 1280x960 except Doom 3 (1024x768). I always use 16x AF as it does not seem to make a dent in the framerate and makes a ton of games look much better. If I could I also use 2x or 4x AA though some games dont care for AA.

I use a CRT with max res of 1600x1200.

I play most games at 1280x1024, with 2xAA. I have a 9600 though, so some games don't appreciate the AA. CSS and HL2 are fine though..

EDIT: Max res is 1920x1440 w/o screen scrolling

As far as newer games are concerned...

Resolution: either 1280x960@100hz (D3, FC, SC:CT and some others) or 1600x1200@100hz (HL2, UT2004)
Max resolution: 2048x1536@85hz
AF: none, 4X (HL2, UT2004) or 8X (I think D3's HQ setting uses this automatically)
AA: none
Monitor: CRT (Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB)

This is with a 6800GT at 415/1100mhz. I generally like cranking up the resolution instead of using AA/AF modes. Framerates usually stay above 60 and don't fall below 45, which is about the minimum I can tolerate.

You dont have the correct resolutions. Its 1920x1200, not 1920x1080.

Game Resolution: 1920x1200
Maximum Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200
AF: 8-16x
AA: 0-2x (or 4x for an older game)
Monitor Type: LCD

Games I play: CSS, WOW, Halo, BF1942, T:V, UT2K4 (Mostly WOW and CSS)

All I run @ 1280x1024 with 6xAA and 16xAF
My max res is 1280x1024

1280x1024 17 inch LCD 16ms/ 75hz (like it matters)
all games run at 12x10 (yes even FC with HDR), or if i cant force them, 12x9 and some older games that only support 10x7
always 8xAF at least, 16xAF usually
2xAA seems good enough for me, maybe 2xQ AA rarely use 4xAA coz i cant see a difference 90% of the time
and of course when im enjoying HDR i dont much care for AA
i use a 6800GT (leadtek)

examples

UT2004 = 12x10, max details, 2xAA 16xAF
SC:CT = 12x10 max details, SM3, HDR, parallax, soft shadows, 8xAF
FC = 12x10 max settings SM3, HDR, 8xAF
HL2/CS = 12x10 max settings, 2xAA 16xAF
Doom3 = 12x10, max settings 2xAA 16xAF

i tried the GF FX dawn demo the other day and whacked on 8xS AA man it had no jaggies! it was cool. i cant wait till that level of AA becomes a reality in games
