Depends on what resolution my Fury X can deliver at 60fps with decent settings. So usually 2560x1440 but sometimes 1920x1080.

4K : Getting my story on i can live with dips into the 20'ies and still enjoy the story.
1K : CS:GO, let the fragging of innocent 15 year olds begin at 200fps

2560x1440, 60Hz. Very happy with it for the past 6 years, although in time (when this monitor dies, I expect), I'll probably move to 3440x1440 (if there's a sub-$1000 FreeSync HDR 1800R curved VA (or at least IPS) ~34" monitor with reasonable colour accuracy available at that time).

2560 x 1440 120Hz to 144Hz or can go down to 60hz with adaptive sync.

Now I'm too used to it and can't step down to 60hz without adaptive sync anymore...

1080P@60hz. Very Ok with it.

Will go straight to 4k in about five years, once the 400$/€ graphics cards, can deliver 60fps without mutilating the games.

In a way, low resolution "mutilates" graphics by introducing edge aliasing. A 4k computer monitor at 24-27" goes a long way toward fixing this issue with pixel density.

Not sure what to pick since I don't play many new games (Fallout 4 is the newest), so I can play most of my games using 4K DSR well over 60fps using G-Sync monitor, so anywhere between 60-144Hz depending upon the game. It's more enjoyable to me than 4K60 native. Until we get a new wave of 4K120 monitors/TVs, that's where I'll be.

1440p, try to get 70-75 avg fps with v-sync(got 60hz monitor) enable for the ultimate experience. In watch dogs 2, geforce 1070 was not powerful enough for 1440p had to play with temporal filtering(checkerboard rendering) on to make it work.

Normally 5760x1080 but if it doesn't support it then 1920x1080. SupCom though is of course 3840x1080.

Waiting for a monitor to die may seem like a good idea initially, until you realize it may outlast you.

You might have a point there, but at least this one has a CCFL backlight (Dell U2711), so it'll die eventually. I have no need to replace a very, very good monitor purely out of tech-lust, fortunately :)

It is the ideal balance right now. Looking forward to the FALD IPS 4k 144hz monitors coming out this fall. Please don't suck.

4k or I don't play at all. Dead serious. Could really use Vega to help with this.

Strangely I must partially agree with you here. The one thing I wont compromise on is running at native resolution. I'm not 4k but I am 3440x1440 and I purchased this monitor knowing my current hardware could not keep up with regards to demanding games.

I chose to put myself into this situation knowing the consequences, and surely you must have also. I've seen you complain about waiting for Vega all over these forums, and you bring it up again out of thin air into this thread. Maybe you should also look in the mirror and understand this situation is of your own making; maybe you didn't research enough, you believed rumours, or you are simply being impatient. But I suspect in any case you are projecting the blame.
