I'm about to put together an online flash portfolio, and i'm not too sure what size to go for... what resolution do you all think i can assume any of the people who might be looking to hire me are using?

1024x768 is most common now-a-days. Its used to be 800x600, but most people have 17 - 19 inch monitors.

wow... pretty much a consensus so far...

yeah, i was debating whether to consider the 800x600 people... but those pages do bug the crap out of me, cause i'm on a dell 2005fpw (1680x1050)

Normally I would say to still make it 800 x 600 but since this is not for general internet consumption, I'd recommend 1024 x 768.

hmm... good point. i mean, i doubt any designers or firms are running anything less... they're probably running 1600x1200 or higher in fact

just occured to me that it's gonna be within a web browser... (duh) so, if i'm assuming 1024x768, what size should my actual presentation be to fit within the browser?

I thought it would be 1280 by 1024 for 17 and 19 inch monitors? assuming most people have switched to lcd, which may not be an accurate assumption :p

640x480, depends on the project. a small flash window usually looks great.

would 900x600 be reasonable inside of a browser on a monitor running 1024x768, or is that too tall?

maybe i should just assume 1280x1024... after all, it is designers at would be looking.

But you can scale a flash anim when you publish it, right... maybe do it for 1280x1024 and then do a scaled down version and have people select when they enter the page?
