I would say a dog with puppies?
**or any animal with their young, for that matter, except Turtles or sharks or fish or somethin.
 
A dog couple with puppies, the male looking proud with his head held high, the bitch (<---legitimate use of the word!!!) looking down, caring for the puppies.
