What Refresh Rate of your monitor do you run your games at?

I run mine at 85Hz for every thing.

I know screen size will effect frame rate and was thinking refresh rate will effect it too.

I see at Tomshardware he does all his testing at 65Hz, couldn't find any thing stated here at Anandtech of what he sets his at.

i dont know why you would want to run at 65 but whatever. I always run my monitor at 85-100hz. Scan rate and frame rate are 2 seperate things. Only times I go above 100hz is for special applications like stereoscopic glasses. I go to 120hz for those.

I use the maximuim supported refresh rate for whatever screen size I'm using. At the moment it's 60 at 1600 by 1200. My vid card can go higher but my monitor won't support it.

Well on my primary (Dell 1801FP LCD) I run at 1280x1024 at 75 Hz although with an LCD it doesn't make a big difference. Secondary monitor (17" FD Trinitron) I run 1024x768 at 100 Hz.

EDIT: I'm pretty sensitive to noticing a low refresh rate as soon as I'm using a different PC. Drives me nuts.

i am a noob when it comes to refreshing hardly have a clue, well when i click refresh at the desktop it blinks freezes then after acouple of seconds then finishes refreshing, and sometimes after refreshing the icons on the desktop don't work then after acouple of LONG seconds they work again

any ideas?

i usually set mine at 85. but this unichrome IGP of my el cheapo soyo mobo would result in serious flickering/shimmering at 85. looks just fine at 100 however, so thats what i am stuck with

I'm using an LCD so refresh rates are no longer an issue for my eyes.
