High as your monitor can go at the resolution you want. Typically, most people are happy at 75hz, but I like 85Hz. My monitor at home does 85Hz, while my work machine does 75Hz.

home 1024X768 85 HZ
work 800x600 85 HZ

My work compuer actually was at 75 for a long time, and I started getting headaches and sore eyes, so I complained like a MFer and they changed the W2K profile so now its 85.

aves2k... I'm at 800*600 too, but @ 72Hz hehehe
I can't see any flickering even at 72Hz, so it's fine for me.

BTW, I'm on an old AcerView 34T 14"....

this computer:
1024*768 @60HZ (14" monitor, won't go any higher)

other computer, 1024*768 @75hz (much sharper than 85hz)

whoooaaa, hey kag, that is the exact same monitor i am using. I picked mine up at goodwill computers a few months ago. Its nice for a 14"er. I had to duct tape the case close, though, and that was after adjusting the focus voltage. Works great now......:D

1024x768@75 Hz, but it's an LCD, so I wouldn't see any flicker even if I put it at 1 Hz :p

I used to use a 15" CRT at 1024x768@60 Hz, whenever I turned away from the screen the whole room would blink. Glad I got rid of that monitor :)
