what ram type on radeons?

on some radeon cards (9800np is what im referring to) some companys use different types of ram.
I have heard that if you have.. let say a nonpro radeon of any model and it has the same type of model ram as a radeon pro of that model, you can flash the bios and be able to have a pro of that model, can someone tell me what is the best type of rams for 9800np or what model ram does the 9800pro uses? From past forums, i have read that samsungs are good, but which model of samsung?
 
Best Buys and other off-line stores use Infinion Ram which is very low grade 3.3ns memory. Over clocking the RAM with one of these are near impossible.
