I am buying a Asus CUSL2 with 800EB 133 processor. I want to install 256 or 128 MB ram. Was wondering which to use. there are CL3 or CAS3 and CL2 or CAS2 (i take they mean the same thing). I am confused whether to get the CAS2 or CAS3 memory. the CAS2 is more expensive than the CAS 3 memory and budget is an issue..

thanks

While your budget is important, don't skimp on good quality memory. Maybe start with 128 Meg and then add more later. Spend the few extra bucks and get the CAS2. It will give you an edge in general performance and also if you overclock, in stability. I bought Enhanced Memory Systems (they're now part of Mushkin) PC133 HSDRAM. Another good choice, though not from my personal experience, would be Micron PC133. Good luck!!

thanks for the info. I bought a CL2 RAm from Crucial Tech (Micron) for 308.00 with free overnight shipping. appreciate the input. There were other generic cheaper ones but ur advice of not skimping was important....

thanks
