what RAM to get

okay so i have been trying to OC my rig for like ever now and its pretty stable right now but im having problems getting my ram to higher speeds. i cant seem to get my 4 sticks of 512 on a 333 divider. when ever i try to i get no post. so im guessing that its the 4 sticks because of what i have read about my board and 4 dimms. so the question is..

what ram should i get? i have read that the crucial Balistix are good (pc4000) but which one?

or do you think that i should just take out 2 of the 512 and just go with the one gig instead of 2?

im not sure what to do. i use my rig for gaming (BF2, HL2, FEAR, COD2) and lots of DVD burning and encoding.

I wouldn't take any RAM out, but I'm not sure it's worth the $200+ expense...especially since you already have the proc at 2.6 GHz...

do you have the 2T memory setting enabled? I was able to get 4x1gb of mixed ram to run at 400mhz w/ the Premium.

If you are geting new RAM, I really like my OCZ PC4000 RAM. You will not get much past 2.65 though, so maybe it isn't worth it for you.

capt caveman i do have th memory on the 2t setting. the ram works fine on 400mhz but my ram cant handle a freq of 260. so i wanted to use a divider of 333mhz but it wont let me. what is your thoughts on that one?

looks like maybe i shouldnt get the new ram. but after 3 months now its getting kinda old.
