i haven't built a system since my kt7a system and i don't know a whole lot about DDR. i'm buying the Shuttle AK35GT2 but what kind of ram should i get? i won't be overclocking ever and i'll be useing a 1600+. will the CRUCIAL MICRON 256MB 32x64 PC 2100 DDR RAM work for this board or do you have to use 2700 for a 333 board? i want to keep it as cheep as possible so if 2100 will work then i'll get it.

"i won't be overclocking ever..."

That's the kind of thing people say just before the build a Water cooled, RAID system :p

If you really won't OC, I'd say buy some good Corsair, Samsung or Mushkin PC2100.

ya i know, i've actualy put some thought into overclocking but if i was going to go that path with this system i'd get one of those 1.6a P4's.
ok i was reading a post about xp's running a stock fsb of 266, so if the only way to get a 333 board to run at 333 is to overclock the proc, is that right? if that is true would i be able to save some cash by getting a VIA 266a board? i'm going to have this sytem running all night 5 feet from my head so keeping the cooling as quite as possible is a must. what would you guys recomend?

Get a nice MP ????+, a good KT333 MB, some quality PC3000 and a water cooling system... Done and Done ;)

[Edit] Oh, "as cheep as possible"... forget all the above.
