My Rig basics:
Chaintech VFN4 Ultra (max 2.9V Vdimm)
Venice 3000+ prime95 stable at 310x9 w/ 1.6V but am running 305x9
Thermaltake Silent PurePower 480W w/ PFC
OCZ VX Value (2x512MB Dual Channel)
Well, after a lot of heartache with my OCZ VX Value not liking 1T command rate with my rig and me not being able to supply it enough volts and newegg selling it as 2.5-3-3-7 when it's spec'd at 2.5-4-4-8....NewEgg has granted me an RMA so I'm going to upgrade it.
I don't mind spending $200+ on some new RAM.
Since I know I hit 300HTT it would sure be nice to run 1:1 and get something like this:
OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 600 (PC 4800) Dual Channel Platinum
Or, would a DDR550 O/C to 600?
Patriot 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 550 (PC 4400)
or
CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 550 (PC 4400)
or
GeIL Ultra Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 550 (PC 4400) Platinum Copper Heatspreader Temperature thermometers 6 Layers Ultra Low Noises Shielded PCB with Gold 30u" Plating
or
OCZ EL Dual Channel 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 550 (PC 4400)
or
mushkin XP4400 Dual Pack 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 550 (PC 4400)
Work? I don't know if any of the above is better than the other in terms of overclockability, but all this being equal I would take the OCZ because of their excellent support. The mushkin is puzzling being the most expensive and no timings other than CAS2.5 listed.
Last option is going for a divider and either getting OCZ Gold BH5 or Platinum Rev. 2 TCC5 or I guess Patriot TCCD.
Or, maybe VX and the ddr booster?

. It seems no a lot of people have experience with PC4400+ RAM and run a divider.
However, I have a sneaky suspicion that the memory controller on my Venice does not like running asynchronous and it is what is holding me back from 1T timings when using a divider. But I could be wrong. Either way I'd be getting sexier RAM.
