I just ordered a NF7-S. Right now I have 2 sticks of 512mb pc2700 kingston hyperx. I am going to sell the hyperx on ebay or in the forums here. What ram should I get for the new mobo. I want to get 2 512mb sticks, but I'm not sure what kind / speed I should get. I was thinking about either the Corsair XMS Pro (With the leds) or OCZ Platinum. I'm not sure what speed I should get. I was thinking either pc3200 or pc3500. Please let me know what you think. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

To be honest, I think the 2700 HyperX would overclock just fine to handle the needs you put upon the board, but if you are still set on selling the existing ram then I believe OCZ Platinum, Mushkin Level I or II, and TwinMOS (TwinMos PC3700 with the 4.3ns B chips on it [taken from Elclipse's Abit NF7 web site])are the ram you will find most often recommended for this board for high end memory. The only memory I have heard of having an issue on this board (and I say this from personal experience) is the Kingston HyperX PC4000 memory.

As for memory speed, if you are planning to overclock then might as well go for the PC3500. If not then stick with the PC3200. Again, I am pretty certain that any of the memory mentioned above, even if bought at PC3200 speeds, will overclock to support your needs.

Good luck!

I am planning on overclocking. I read that there were problems with the hyperx and this board. I assumed that it was all versions of the hyperx. Is it only the pc4000?

Right now I have an unlocked barton Running close to 3200+ speeds, but I might change to a mobile barton soon. This is on an ASUS A7N8X, but I am going to change to the new mobo when it comes.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

I'm using OCZ perf. edition and overclocks pretty good for my AXP 2600+. Few years back I had Crucial with my TBird 1Gig OCed to 1.3Ghz. I think Crucial makes good memory too. Good Luck.
