My brother in law can only use pc 2100, but i gather from various sites all RAM is compatible with his chip. Problem is, he has two pc 3200 sticks that dont work when he put them in, either together or one at a time.

thanks

Motherboard:
CPU Type AMD Athlon XP, 1800 MHz (13.5 x 133) 2200+
Motherboard Name FIC AM35 (3 PCI, 1 AGP, 2 DIMM, Audio, Video)
Motherboard Chipset VIA VT8375 ProSavageDDR KM266
System Memory 512 MB (PC2100 DDR SDRAM)
BIOS Type Award (08/20/02)

is that ok? thank you

FIC boards are generally sold to system builders, such as hp or e-machines, etc.

They keep them cheap and sometimes are very picky over memory types, especially those with low latencies.

So even though pc3200 should work, you might just be stuck finding average pc2100 ram.
