I have 4 hard drives and a CD Burner and CD player

I selected the following for an antec case:

2. AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor Socket 754 Retail w/Fan and Heatsink, 3 Years Manufacturer Warranty

3. Antec TruePower TrueBlue480 True480 Power Supply Retail Shipped to Hawaii

4. Zalman CNPS7000A-CU Pure Copper CPU Cooler Retail For AMD Athlon XP/Duron & Intel P4 Skt478 and AMD Athlon 64 (Socket754) compatible design for broad compatibility.

Retail
Does not generate noise or vibration in Silent Mode.
Pure Copper base materials ensure excellent heat dissipation.
92mm fan inside the FHS maximizes airflow.
Adjustable fan speed controller (FAN MATE 1) enables control of noise and fan performance.
$40.99 Shipped to Hawaii

What DVD bureners Should I be looking at? Is the sony 540a DVD RW a good buy ? $!02 Shipped to hawaii?

What DDR ram is best for This MOBO ( I do not plamn to overclock)
Do I need the Zalman Heatsink? since the Athlon 64 comes with ah heatsink and fan.

Any comments on my planned purtchase above?
any suggestions to improve my list?

Since you're not overclocking you need to go with PC 3200 ram. Ocz ram is good.

I have a very similar config to yours. I bought:

- 2x 512 MB Kingston HyperX PC 3500 (DDR434) memory since I'm OCing a bit and it was barely more expensive than PC3200 memory;

- NEC ND-3500 DVD burner (16x speed, 4x double layer) - one of the fastest, highly recommended;

- Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu.

As for the Zalman heatsink, I chose "B" version bevause of longer cables and possibility to mount FAN MATE 2 controller on the outside of my case. I chose the "AlCu" version because its cooling capacity is basically the same as pure copper but it's much lighter.

The stock heatsink is louder and less effective so I didn't want it. I'm very happy with my Zalman. I'm running it at 1800 rpm and it cools great while maintaining practically non-existent level of noise. The only possible drawback is the removal of the stock metal backplate from the ASUS mobo but I was actually surprised at how easily it came off. No effort at all, I detached it with ease although it looked almost too solid at the first glance.
