Allright, so I got my new E6600 in this week. I need to find some good MOBO / Ram, need help with compatibily, voltages problems, etc.
Mobo first. I'm prolly going to buy the Asus 570 nforce. This is prolly only a temporary solution, i might buy a 590 if it O'C's better, either way its nice and will get the job done. My question is, is the nforce 667 FSB limit on the nforce 5 a big deal? I want to get a 2.8 - 3GHZ(max) overclock. Whatever is possible, safely.
On the RAM, it'll be 2 X 1 gig BTW. DDR2-800 I assume is best for good o'cing, however i *want* to spend less than $250 on RAM. the cheapest stuff on newegg is OCZ but i hear about problems with their high voltage requirements...
I assume that the 9X muli on the E6600 runs at a 266 FSB to give 2.4ghz right? So, at the MOST, i'd need ram that did 333. Or am i way off? A huge O'C is not a big deal, it just a nice luxury, in fact i've never o'ced before. So i'd be happy with less than 600Mhz on my e6600
