I have purchased an athlon xp-m 2600, a DFI ultra infinity and a SI-97. I already have a BFG 6800OC and a Enermax 431W PSU. The DFI has 3 DIMM slots. Dual channel and a single slot. Memory is the last thing I have to get and I am looking for recommendations. Could I do 2x256 in the dual channel slots and then a single stick of 512 in the third? or would it just be better to do 2x512 in the dual slots? I am wanting to get the best overclock I can get out of the xp-m, what brand of memory should I be looking at and should I go with PC3500??? Thanks...

Will these work with this MB? And what is the differance between the 2?

If you're not going to overclock it, you might as well go with the cheapest memory that comes with a lifetime warranty. PC3200 is probably going to be the most reasonable solution for your system, I think. What are you using it for?

Personally, I'd just go with two 512 DIMMs running in dual channel.

I do want to overclock it. I have heard the mobile xps are very good for that. I also bought the si-97 for OC purposes also. It will mainly be used for gaming. I want some good memory, not the best, but good for this chip and board to overclock.

The diff between the two (at least the only diff I noticed) is that the LE series ram has better timings at DDR550. 2.5-3-3 vs 2.5-4-4.

Your fastest OC will most likely be with 2 x 256 sticks. The two sticks of 512 next. The three sticks would prolly come in last. This is a bit of a guess on my part and comes from reading of others experience.

Yes, two sticks of 256MB will work in DC with a third stick of 512MB. The two sticks of 256MB go in dimm slots 1 & 2. The 512MB stick in slot 3.

I'd go for two sticks of 512MB (total a gig) cuz I think a gig is helpful. 512MB ain't bad (thats what I have, but I'd like a gig for games like Far Cry etc.)

I think the TCCD ram (what you have linked) is a good choice that will work well in that rig, and can be used in an AMD 64bit pc as well (for when you upgrade cpu/mobo).
