I'm having a difficult time deciding on a couple components of the computer I plan on building:

1. C2D E6400
2. P5B Deluxe
3. [Ram goes here]
4. [Video card goes here - Either x1950Pro, or 7900GT]

Could anyone help me out?

I'm going to get DDR2 6400, I know that.

But what brand? I need something that will overclock well.

Something with 4-4-4 latency will prolly have a better overhead. If max you do, however, is 400fsb (3200ghz on that chip) then prolly any mem stick you can find should do well.
Also I heard core2's are not that mem speed hungry, unlike a64's, and higher frequencies don't benefit them much. But they got to run 1:1, from what I heard (depends on mobo I think)

http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/04/11/live_memory_test/index.html maybe read this..

Anything that is in This list will Serve you well.....

They are All Micron D-9 Chips. My personal favorites are Crucial, Patriot, and Wintec... they are All Fabbed here in the USA. But all of them are of equal general Quality.

I'm considering getting only 1GB of RAM to hold me over, then getting another 1GB fairly soon.

If I got 1GB of ram, how much money would that save me? Should I get a 1gb stick, or 2 512mb sticks?
