What ram and motherboard?

I'm upgrading to a 1.2ghz T-Bird. But I might sell my old motherboard/cpu to a friend. What motherboard would you recommend, and what type of ram (the new motherboards take DDR right?)

I would prefer a via chipset since I trust them
