I like NFS HP2, but that is boring now... I'm looking for some good racing game but I can't seem to find one I like. I saw Grand Turismo but thats not for PC... *sigh*

Anyone else have some reccomendations?

Check this out... no info on it but if you're looking for something around the GT3 mold this you might like.

If you'd like to try out open wheel race cars and rally cars here are some i like:
Colin McRae Rally 3 or 2 if you can find it for $9. :D
Grand Prix Legends and pull your hair out trying to drive... great fun sliding it around once you get used to it :D
F1-Challenge 99-02 or F1 2002... lots of MODs for this game including GTR 2002
Grand Prix 4

Will the mods for F1 2002 work with F1 Challenge ? Or if not which title has or will have the best mod options ?

No, mods for F1 2k2 will not work with F1 CC. However, considering that you can buy 2002 for $12.88 and Challenge for $19.99 there's no reason not to get both. I believe there's a cracked version of GTR2002 for F1C but don't quote me on that. If you're looking for a game with good mod potential you'll basically have to look at both. A lot of new mods will come out for F1C but there are probably mods that were in progress when F1C came out so some may still come out for 2002. At the prices both games sell for, it's not a huge problem.

I hate the controls of Colin Mcrae 3, but I really liked CMR2.
Toca2, Swedish Touring Car Championship and MS Rallisport challenge were good too.

You're right, NFS HP2 is getting repetitive, but it's still a good game for eye candy :)

My favorite racing games are CMR2 and NFS Porsche Unleashed. Grand Prix 4 was alright, and Big Scale Racing is a good underdog.

F1 2002 has the most options right now... the mods for it will not work with F1 Challenge but you can convert if you know your way around the mas files... big PITA.

Do you know where you can actually buy CMR3?
I had the "demo" version of it, and it doesn't even work anymore...Tried re-installing it, newest drivers/patches. The problem is, is that I've only seen it for sale at Codemasters' website, and they're charging $9 for shipping for it. :frown:

I was disappointed by both CMR3 and Rallisport Challenge. I didn't find them better than CMR2, and that's an old game so I was looking forward to those two rally games. I've played a lot of CMR2 so I'm kinda bored with that but have yet to find a replacement!

NFS HP2 = crap. Midnight Club 2 = crap. I'm not into Nascar much but 2004 (and some of the older ones) are good. I'm not into hardcore sims so I never played GPL or anything. F1 2002 is decent, mostly cause of the GTR mod and stuff. Live for Speed is decent too. Pro Race Driver sucks too.

NFS PU is kinda old but one of my favorites. I'm not much of a Porsche fan, but I'm gonna have to dig up that cd one of these days now that I think of it. May have to find Sports Car GT and Viper Racing again too. Old games, but were very good at their time so are alright now. :)

I'd also like to see a few of them; I've played a few of the Need For Speed series, but the physics engine is a bit weird - hit just the right tiny ditch, and the car flips right over. If you hit it a little harder of course, then the car just flips a full 360 and you keep going...still a strange engine though.

Geoff Cramonds Grand Prix 4 takes some beating for realism and game play, you can get it quite cheap now and there are lots of new car models on the web to download and bring the game up to this seasons cars. There are also some tweeking progs out there that enable you to change the perfomance of the cars inline with the 2003 season. Plus you can start at novice which gives you all kinds of help like indestuctable car all the way up to pro which is very close to the real thing with no help at all. Supports Lan play but not internet play. check it out.
