Hello!

I am setting up ASUS K8V-X-SE and the following parts:

CPU: AMD Sempron 2800+ (which may need 4-pin square connector from PSU)
RAM: Kingston 512MB DDR400 KVR400X64C3A/512
VGA: Gigabytes Radeon 9600 Pro GV-R96P256D (which is 1.5V universal AGP interface)
HDD: Maxtor 40GB (not checked for unit number)
ODD: Pioneer DVD-ROM 16X
Expansion Boards:
1st PCI slot: none
2nd PCI slot: none
3rd PCI slot: MSI TV Anywhere Master
4th PCI slot: none

All parts are likely compatible with each other, except power supply that is attached with my PC case. It does not have +12V 4-pin square connector. Maybe new PSU should be bought?

What I am considering is appropriate wattage outputable PSU that is offering +12V 4-pin square connector for CPU. Price range is between $30 ~ $60 USD ($25 ~ $50 CND). What is your recommendations?

yes, you need the isolated 12v rail most definitely. You need a new psu. A 300-w psu would be enough for that system if you didn't upgrade. And also how is the usd worth less than the cdn dollar? rofl if only. I'd have a field day >.>' i hate how i have to pay so much more for the same stuff =/. Anyways, i'd actually give more towards the psu. It's kinda hard to find a good 300w psu for that little. perhaps if you added another 20 bucks to it. Seasonic s12 is what i recommend to everyone. If you don't like it, there are many other threads in cases and also this forum about psus. I think i saw 8 of them today already. Anyways, look for the price on newegg for a ballpark figure.
