Hi,
I've just ordered an EVGA 980 and thinking of adding another one in the next few months.
Currently have an EVGA NEX750G 750w 80+ Gold PSU but for SLI am I going to need an 850w or above?

You'll be fine with the EVGA 750W. Each 980 uses only about 190W at stock clocks, which means 50% of the unit's capacity from both GPU's, leaving about 30% for the rest of the system and a bit of OC'ing, and a 20% safety margin.

I'm wondering though, is the second 980 even worth it? What resolution are you gaming at?

Yeah I thought I might just get away with it but on the borderline of safety.
I'm planning to change my monitor soon, hopefully this time move upto 1440p/144Hz.
I'm not sure if 1 980 will cut it, I'll need to do some more testing later.

Dual 980's for 1440p 144hz? Seems like a lot.

Not really. A single 980 won't get you over 60 fps averages in lots of titles, which is what you need to benefit from 144 hz over 60 hz.

But I'd give the single card a try anyway, and only then decide if the second card is worth it. Also make sure your CPU is Intel and properly overclocked.
